How can I get my site ranked high in the search engines?

Getting listed in the search engines can be an important aspect of individuals finding your website on the internet. Most of us would love to see our web sites get tons of free natural traffic from the large search engines. The fact of the matter is that this is one of the most competitive areas of the internet and that great success will not come without a major effort on your part.
Unfortunately, we at websiteswebpages.com do not control the major search engines such as Google and its spidering of various websites. This process from what Google, Yahoo and MSN indicate can take a few weeks -- even up to a few months to get listed -- and it is completely out of the control of HostPapa or any other web hosting company.
Below are some tips on how you can maximize your efficiency when spending time working on your web site’s natural search results listings.
Unless you have a very niche requirement for your customer search keywords, for instance; [Toronto Men’s Dress Shoes] you will find that natural search engine traffic and listings are hard to come by.
For instance, a search of Google for [Toronto Men’s Dress Shoes] resulted in 608,000 web page listings, so you are competing against 608,000 web pages to try to get your web page to be #1 for that listing. Now a search for [Men’s Dress Shoes], a much broader search, yields 2,680,000 web pages and so to try to be the #1 listing for “Men’s Dress Shoes”. You obviously have much more competition and much more work to get to be #1.
For the best natural search results listings you should consider three things:
1. How your domain name ties into what you want people to search for. Is your domain name Toronto-Mens-Dress-Shoes.com or is something less tied into the keywords you want to have results for?

2. You will need to make sure that certain areas of your web site are tied into your preferred keywords, like your title tags and content on each of your pages. A good webmaster can assist you with what to do here and if you are a do-it-yourself type, you should check out search engine webmaster forums to learn the vocabulary and what to do with your site. You can type “SEO forums” in google.com search and you will find multiple forums to research.
3. Inbound links are the last and most important aspect of your search engine marketing strategy. These are text links which link to your site from other web sites which have related content or interests similar to your site. If possible, you will want those text links to read like the keyword searches you want your site to come up for. For instance, a text link that reads “Toronto Men’s Dress Shoes” which will then link to Toronto-Mens-Dress-Shoes.com would be preferable to help your ranking for that keyword sequence.
To obtain these inbound links, you will need to review who shows in the top 10-100 results for the keywords you want to have results for and then you will need to contact the owners of those sites and negotiate a way to get your links on their sites. Obtaining these links is a manual process and the more time and energy you can allocate toward obtaining these links the better your results will be.
To get listed naturally in the search engines is a manual process and can take a fair amount of time (it used to take up to three months to get listed in Yahoo). There are the big three search engines (Google, Yahoo & MSN) and then there are tons of smaller search engines which drive far less traffic to web sites. Below we list on how you can submit your web site to get listed in the big three search engines: (Google/Yahoo/MSN).

Google:

Yahoo:

MSN:
